RCVS accreditation is a voluntary quality assurance scheme governed by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS), who regulate the profession as a whole. To gain accreditation in the Practice Standards Scheme, the RCVS performs a rigorous inspection of the practice and its staff every four years. The inspection focusses on areas including hygiene, health and safety, equipment and delivery of high standards of veterinary care.
